JA 119 was sold on Ebay and was originally owned by a gentleman named
Joe. This is a very interesting right handed, antique natural guitar
with a stop tail piece. I believe it is the second
Antique Natural JA without a Bigsby. (JA owns one, I think SN 003) Pretty neat.
This guitar has found it's way to Europe! Here's what its owner has
to say:
I love the Johnny A
guitar and this is my second one. My first is the with a Bigsby in a
sunset glow finish and I had to get me a stoptail one. After some
search and with the help of Chris Armold, a great guy and a true
enthusiast and Captain of the board of the JA Registry I got this
beautiful antique natural one, a very rare guitar as it seems that it is
one of the only ones made in natural with a stoptail.
The JA119 is a fabulous guitar: looks, plays and sounds fantastic.
The balance of the body is perfect and it has a lot of sustain. It is a
piece of fine art made by the worlds top artisans in Gibson custom shop. I
was also very lucky to have Chris take my Certificate of Authenticity to
Johnny A concert and have him sign it. Now what I only need is to get me a
black one. They are quite rare and I don't mind if it is with a
stoptail or with a Bigsby. The JA guitar is a well kept secret.
Most of guitarist never had a chance to see or play one, there is less
than 300 made in 2 years and it will never compare with mass production
guitars models like Les Pauls or Strats. Play one and you get hooked.
Peace to all of you
