JA 258...what can I say...another kick ass JA guitar, sunset glow,
Bigsby...here's what Cliff has to say about his axe.
Thanks to Chris A.
for helping me hunt down my first JA, and thanks to Steve T. for letting
me try JA #36 before buying mine, I appreciate it. Bought this from Eric
at Willcutt Guitars in KT, at a great price. They also set it up to my
specs.
Been playing about 35 years, mostly a Strat guy (69 Sunburst RW with
Bardens, 72 Maple Neck Sunburst, and a DeTemple 56, which is the best of
them). I've also got an MC28 Martin, 455CE Taylor 12 string, Alvarez
Yairi classical, Gretsch G3161. All the big amps are gone, main amp is an
SMF 15 watt, Class A monster.
Bought and and sold LP 59 RI, LP 58 RI, Byrdlands, 335's, and my last one,
an ES-345. There was "something" missing, with every one of those
guitars. I'd heard great things about the JA, and still needed a double
humbucker guitar for some of the things I'm doing, playing small to medium
clubs in the Mass/RI area.
For me, this JA has it all. The most comfortable neck, and great
fretwork. The balance, feel, and playability of the guitar is perfect. I
also HAD to have a Bigsby (part of the problem with my other Gibsons, I
never wanted to add a Bigsby). The sound, through my SMF is fantastic,
couldn't be happier. This guitar really can do it all, from jazz, to
blues, to rock.
If you're thinking about buying one, don't hesitate, just do it. You
won't be sorry.
