Kevin says: "I am a proud owner of the Johnny A. Sunburst/w Bigsby serial number 376. I've been playing guitar for about 10 years now. Besides the Johnny A, I own a Taylor Custom Solidbody, an Al Di Meola Signature Ovation, and a Godin nylon string. These days, I play through a Mesa Boogie Express 5:50 connected to a T.C. Electronics G-system. I own the Xotic BB preamp, RC Booster pedals along with the Adrenalinn III. Interestingly, Johnny A. is also using the G-system these days. I string the guitar with .11s for a more jazz/blues tone.
I have wanted a Johnny A. for several years having been blown away by the dynamics and versatility of the guitar through songs like Krea Cata. The opportunity came to purchase the Johnny A. through eBay at a good price from it's previous owner in Texas. I have always been attracted to unique guitars--the Johnny A. is the best guitar Gibson has designed since the 335 and I firmly believe it will stand the test of time.
"Update 2/6/2013. Changed pickups to Lollar Low-Wind Imperials humbuckers for both neck and bridge. They sound absolutely awesome. Amazing string-to-string clarity and pickup balance. Complex chords really shine with these."
