Owner: Steve " I went to Bananas at Large in San Rafael with a good friend, and my plan was to purchase a Custom Shop Telecaster. For some reason, that's what I thought Ii wanted. After sitting in the sound room for an hour or so and playing many different guitars, Alan, the owner brought in this Gibson for me to check out. Actually he brought it in the room earlier along with a few others. I wasn't at all familiar with the Johnny A. The second I picked it up, I knew I liked it. It just felt so right in my hands. I have to admit, it also really helped that the guitar sounded pretty sweet even when it wasn't plugged in. Regardless of how many other guitars I went to play, I kept coming back to this Johnny A. As Alan said, you can try and pick a guitar, or you can just let the guitar pick you. The fact that it was in the shop on consignment from Neal Schon was obviously an added bonus. It was beautifully set up for him to his specs, and well, I'm pretty sure his specs are a little more demanding than mine."
